Fire Safety Test — Introduction
This Fire Safety Test is designed to assess your understanding of key principles, legal duties, and practical procedures related to fire safety in the workplace. It is based on current UK legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and aligns with recognised best practice guidance from the UK Fire and Rescue Services.
You should already have completed the Fire Safety Course before attempting this assessment. The test will evaluate your knowledge of:
Fire prevention and common causes of workplace fires
Fire behaviour and methods of fire spread
Safe evacuation procedures and emergency response
The roles and responsibilities of the “Responsible Person” and employees
Correct use of fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment
Instructions to Candidates:
Read each question carefully before selecting your answer.
Each question has four possible answers, but only one correct answer.
Mark or circle the letter (A, B, C, or D) that corresponds to your chosen answer.
You may not use course notes, books, or electronic devices during the test.
There are 20 questions in total. You must achieve at least 50% to pass.
If you finish early, review your answers before submitting your paper.
Assessment Outcome:
Pass: Demonstrates a good understanding of fire safety principles and responsibilities.
Retake Test: Further training or review of specific topics is recommended.
Remember — the purpose of this test is not only to check knowledge but to ensure that everyone in the workplace understands how to prevent fires, respond safely, and protect life and property.
